Experience at Koele Golf:
Legendary
golfer Greg Norman and architect Ted Robinson together designed the
7,017-yard par 72 course in the cool uplands of Koele. The mountain
course begins on a plateau nearly 2,000 feet above sea level, set
off by panoramic views of Maui and Molokai directly across the ocean
channel. The dramatic signature hole number 8 presents a spectacular
200-foot drop in elevation from tee to green through wooded ravines.
Lana'i Pine
Archery Range:
Equipment rentals and lessons for all ages.
Lana'i
Sporting Clays:
This rustic
14-station sporting clay course allows shooters to tackle a variety
of target angles. Meandering through a pine-wooded valley that
overlooks Moloka'i, this skeet range with trap and a compact station
is fun for shotgunners of all skill levels. |
 |
Horseback
riding:
Explore the hillside surrounding Koele and learn of Lanai's
ranching history. Wooded upland trails lead to hidden valleys
that are home to deer and other wildlife, offering spectacular
views of Maui, Molokai, Lanai City and the Lodge. |

Kaioloi'a:
On the northeast
shore of the island, Kaiolohi'a is a beachcomber's and fisherman's
paradise.
Koloiki Ridge
Hike:
Koloiki Ridge Hike is
about a 5-mile trail that starts from the Lodge at Koele and takes
you through the forested hills and valleys of the Koele uplands.
Enjoy the solitude and rugged beauty of Lanai by taking this nature
hike.
Lopa:
A summer south swell surfing area, with a picnic site and beach area
along the eastern shore of Lana'i. This area is the location of one
of four ancient fishponds, only one of which is located above sea
level. A great beach for sunbathing.
Naha Trail:
Paved by
Hawaiians more than a century ago, this trail leads to an old
village site.
Hulopo'e Bay -
Tide Pools:
Located in south Lana'i is Hulopo'e Bay, which is a favorite fishing
and swimming beach. These tide pools are a wonderful place to
discover fascinating inhabitants of these "natural aquariums."
Hulopo'e Bay is part of a marine life conservation district and a
preferred habitat to Hawaiian spinner dolphins. The best time to
explore is when the tide is low and going out. Hulopo'e Bay is an
excellent beach for water activities, including swimming,
boogie-boarding and snorkeling.
Manele Bay:
Manele is a small boat harbor frequented by island yachtsmen and a
snorkel/tour catamaran from Lahaina, Maui. Manele Bay is an adjacent
bay to Hulopo'e Bay.
Polihua Beach:
Located on
the northern coast and only accessible by four-wheel drive. Famous
for the turtles that nest here. Poli (core or bay) and hua (eggs).
Munro Trail:
This ridge
takes you over Lana'ihale. Four-wheel drive or hiking only: on
wet days, portions of the trail are impassable and extreme caution
should be used. |
